Reduced Heat Island Effect Contribution
Color-coated stone chip tiles, particularly when specified in lighter granule colors, actively contribute to mitigating the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect, an environmental phenomenon where built-up areas become significantly warmer than surrounding rural areas due to human activities and heat-absorbing surfaces. The primary mechanism is their relatively high Solar Reflectance (SR) and Thermal Emittance (TE), especially for tiles with white, beige, or light gray granules. Solar Reflectance measures the fraction of solar energy reflected by the roof surface away from the building. Thermal Emittance measures the roof's ability to release absorbed heat as infrared radiation. The textured stone granule surface, while not as reflective as a smooth white membrane, still achieves significantly higher SR than traditional dark asphalt shingles or dark metal roofs. Furthermore, the Ventilated Air Gap beneath the tiles (created by battens) plays a crucial role by allowing heat absorbed by the tiles to be carried away by airflow before it can radiate downwards into the attic or building structure.
Our factory has a well - established production line for colored stone roof tiles. We use high - quality raw materials and strict quality control measures to ensure that each tile is strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing.
