Scientific analysis underpins warranty claims. FTIR spectroscopy tracks resin degradation via carbonyl index (CI) growth – premium PVDF shows CI<0.05 after 5000hrs QUV versus >0.20 for polyesters. SEM microscopy confirms inorganic pigments remain encapsulated after 10,000 MJ/m² UV dose. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measures coating capacitance; values <10⁻¹⁰ F/cm² after aging indicate intact barrier properties. For architectural applications, AAMA 2605 certification requires: ΔE<5 after 10yrs Florida, chalk ≤8, and erosion <20% after 2500hrs QUV.
