Weather-resistant build
Featuring a robust galvalume steel base and a protective stone granule coating, the Milano stone-coated metal roof tile is engineered to withstand diverse weather patterns while maintaining long-term stability.
The Milano stone coated metal roof tile is built on a Galvalume steel substrate, which serves as the structural backbone of the tile. This steel core provides strong resistance against corrosion and helps the tile maintain its integrity under prolonged exposure to moisture, humidity and temperature fluctuations. By combining light weight with mechanical strength, the Galvalume base supports stable long-term performance across varied roofing environments.
The surface of the Milano tile is covered with natural stone granules that are firmly bonded to the steel core. This granule layer helps shield the underlying metal from direct sunlight, rain impact and airborne particles. It also creates a textured, low-glare finish that reduces harsh reflections and gives the roof a more natural, architectural appearance. Over time, the stone coating helps the tile retain a consistent visual tone without the shiny look sometimes associated with plain metal roofing.
The stone granules on our Milano tile are secured using a water-based acrylic resin adhesive formulated with acrylic resin, thickener, preservative and deionized water. This composition helps the adhesive spread evenly and bond the granules firmly to the Galvalume steel substrate, supporting consistent surface coverage and stable granule retention. The inclusion of deionized water helps reduce impurities in the bonding layer, while the thickener and preservative contribute to coating stability and long-term surface consistency. By adopting a water-based acrylic resin system, the Milano tile achieves a durable, textured finish while supporting environmentally considerate manufacturing practices.
This tile is designed to perform reliably in diverse outdoor environments, from humid coastal regions to areas with strong sunlight or frequent rainfall. The combination of Galvalume steel and stone granules helps the roof surface resist weathering, fading and surface degradation under changing conditions. For projects where climate exposure is an important consideration, the Milano profile offers a balanced solution between durability and visual refinement.
Beyond initial installation, the Milano stone coated metal roof tile is intended to remain stable throughout years of service. The bonded granule surface helps protect the steel core, while the interlocking tile layout supports consistent alignment and water shedding across the roof plane. Backed by a 50-year warranty under normal installation and use, this profile suits residential, commercial and renovation projects that require dependable weather protection and lasting exterior appeal.
The Al-Zn (galvalume) coating significantly enhances the corrosion resistance of the steel substrate. By applying this protective coating to both the top and bottom surfaces of the steel, it effectively prevents the roof tiles from rusting.
We use a unique primer formula with extremely strong adhesion, combined with a multi-layer sand blasting process. First, we spray larger granules of vermiculite onto the steel tile surface, and then spray smaller colored sand granules into the gaps between the larger ones. This effectively prevents the colored sand from shedding over time.
Compared to cement tiles, stone coated metal tiles offer four major advantages:
Durability: The service life is approximately 2 to 4 times longer than that of cement tiles.
Lightweight: Cement tiles weigh about 7 times more per square meter than stone coated metal tiles.
Robustness: The roof features an interlocking overlap system on the sides, which effectively prevents rainwater leakage.
Eco-friendly: The steel used in the tiles is fully recyclable and reusable.
Yes, it is excellent. Unlike plain metal sheets without a stone coating, the colored sand on the surface of our tiles absorbs the sound of rain and hail hitting the roof.
No. In fact, many customers have reported a decrease in energy consumption for cooling in summer and heating in winter.
Yes, absolutely. Since the roof system is made of steel, it is strong enough to withstand the weight of a person walking on it.
