Pre-painted coil performance depends on controlled surface energies optimized between 32-42 mN/m through plasma treatment (atmospheric corona discharge at 10-15kW). Contact angle measurements (θ) by goniometry ensure θ<65° for paint adhesion and θ>95° for anti-graffiti properties. For print receptivity, surface tension components are balanced: dispersive (γD) at 30-35 mN/m, polar (γP) at 5-10 mN/m. Plasma polymerization deposits 20-150nm functional layers: amino-silanes for epoxy adhesion (γ=38mN/m), fluorosilanes for hydrophobic surfaces (γ=22mN/m). In-line dyne testing verifies uniformity within ±1.0 mN/m across coils.

Surface analytics confirm chemical composition: XPS detects <5 at% carbon contamination after treatment. The technology eliminates adhesion failures in extreme environments, passing 10x thermal cycling (-40°C/+85°C) without delamination.
